Job Description & Responsibilities
Target Business Services (for N J B Pty Ltd t/a Spar) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to manage all financial operations for our growing retail business on Macleay Island.
This is a crucial role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing strategic financial insights.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Full-Cycle Accounting: Managing all aspects of the general ledger and financial accounting.
Month-End/Year-End Reporting: Timely and accurate preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow.
Budgeting & Cost Control: Developing annual budgets, performing variance analysis, and monitoring costs to improve business profitability and efficiency.
Tax Compliance: Managing and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal tax requirements (e.g., BAS/GST, Payroll Tax).
Payroll Management: Administering and processing weekly/fortnightly payroll accurately.
Financial Strategy: Collaborating closely with the Director and store management team on business planning and strategic financial decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for a detail-focused professional who meets the following criteria:
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (essential).
Experience: Minimum 1 year of proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and various accounting software platforms.
Essential Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Superior analytical skills and attention to detail.
Highly organized with the proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
